What types of vegetables are being grown?

Cucumber, tomatoes, onions, eggplant, bell pepper, and leafy vegetables like parsley, spinach, lettuce, arugula, and others that the farmers help choose.

How are we determining which families get them?

Anera has selection criteria that include: family size, no sustainable income, no one in the family is employed, have an interest in agriculture, and have essentials of farming (water and space)

What is the typical yield per greenhouse?

We’ll be following the production through farmer records. Our earlier experience showed that a regular greenhouse (150 square meters) produces 2000kg of tomatoes on average.

How long does a greenhouse take to set up?

They take 10 days to be planted, and Anera's contractor can build 5 units per week, but the family selection, tendering, and later follow up after planting needs at least 6 months

What is the economic impact for a typical family that gets a greenhouse?

They first take what they need for their family of the cultivated crop, and sell the rest at an average income of $1500 annually.

How is excess crop distributed/sold?

To neighbors, retail shops in the area and in the wholesale market.
