Being a panelist for Palestine Museum US

It was so lovely being a panelist on Palestine Museum US’s inaugural episode of Palestine Stories, a series that documents the lives of Palestinians in exile. I had the honor of telling my grandfather’s story alongside my Aunt Nadia, my grandmother, and my father.

Presenting to hundreds who truly care about and understand the importance of preserving the stories of Palestinian refugees, I felt the panel was a safe space that allowed us to be vulnerable on our own accord.

In addition to sharing anecdotes and opening up about my relationship with my grandfather, I discussed Greenhouses for Gaza and how I seek to honor his life through our efforts in his homeland.

Mr. Faisal Saleh, the Chairman and Founder of Palestine Museum US, was a fantastic host who asked the right questions and moderated our presentation in a respectful manner. I’m very excited to meet him as he plans on visiting DC in the coming weeks.

This event was a testament to the power and importance of storytelling, especially for stories that are so often overlooked. I hope this was the first of many experiences with Palestine Museum US.
